Heating & Furnace Repair and Installation

Central Texas winters are short, but a cold snap can drop temperatures below freezing fast. We repair and replace gas, propane and electric furnaces and heat strips, in site-built and manufactured homes, so your heat works when you need it.

Heating problems we fix

Gas and electric heat

Many homes in the area heat with a gas furnace paired with a central AC. Others use electric heat strips in the air handler or a heat pump. Each fails in different ways. With gas we check the ignitor, flame sensor, gas valve, pressure switches and venting. With electric we check the heating elements, sequencers and wiring.

Propane furnaces

Many homes outside town, from Wimberley and the Hill Country to Martindale, Luling and rural Caldwell County, don't have natural gas and heat with propane. We service and repair propane furnaces, checking the ignition system, burners, gas valve, pressure switches and venting, and we can replace a propane furnace when it's time.

Manufactured-home heating and cooling

We service manufactured-home HVAC systems, including the downflow furnaces, package units and heat pumps these homes use. Manufactured homes have their own equipment and duct layouts, with supply ducts that run under the floor, so we also look at duct connections and the crossover duct when heat or airflow is weak.

Safety first

A gas furnace that isn't venting properly can put carbon monoxide into a home. Make sure you have working CO detectors. If one goes off, or you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas utility or 911 first.

Get ready before the first cold front

The first chilly week of the year is when many heating problems show up. A fall heating check finds worn parts and dirty burners before you need the heat. See maintenance & tune-ups.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my heater smell like burning the first time I turn it on?

Dust settles on the heat exchanger or heating elements over the summer and burns off on the first run. That smell should fade within an hour or so. If it doesn't, or it smells like electrical burning, turn the system off and call.

My furnace blows cold air. What should I check?

Make sure the thermostat is set to Heat, check the filter, and check that the furnace switch and breaker are on. If the burners don't light or shut off after a few seconds, it often points to an ignition or flame-sensor problem that needs a technician.

Do you install new furnaces?

Yes. We repair and replace gas, propane and electric furnaces.

Do you work on propane furnaces?

Yes. We service, repair and replace propane furnaces, common in homes without natural gas.

Do you service manufactured-home HVAC systems?

Yes. We work on manufactured-home heating and cooling, including downflow furnaces, package units and heat pumps.
